Funeral services for John Lewis Leatherman III will be held June 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Tahlequah, OK with Bro. Brian S. Kester officiating the service. Interment will be New Home in Peggs, OK. Funeral services under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

John Lewis Leatherman III the son of Daniel Lee and Marcia Sue (Little) Leatherman was born November 15, 1977, in Muskogee, OK and departed this life on June 25,2019, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 41 years, 7 months and 10 days.

John was a lifetime resident of Tahlequah. He enjoyed life and loved his family very much. He loved watching his kids in whatever activity or sport they were playing and helped coach them when they were younger. Despite his tough exterior, he was just a big teddy bear. Anyone that knew him will tell you that he always had a smile on his face and a shoulder to lean on. He worked at Tahlequah Lumber for almost 20 years, where he was the Assistant Manager and cherished all of the friendships that developed during his time there. John was a huge Steelers fan and is now waving his "terrible towel" with the angels..

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Macil Little of Arkansas, and John and Norma Leatherman of Ohio.one uncle, Terry Little, one mother-in law, Lois Applegate, and one sister-in-law, Kelly Applegate.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Priacilla Leatherman of the home, his son Tyler Leatherman of Tahlequah, OK; his daughter Kayli Leatherman of Tahlequah, OK; his parents Daniel Lee and Marcia Sue Leatherman of Tahlequah, OK; his uncles Barry Leatherman of Texas, David Leatherman of Ohio, and Dennis Little and his wife Debi of Texas; his aunt Cinda Kropka of Ohio; his in-laws Gene and Earline Applegate; Brother- in- laws Tommy Applegate, and Timmy Applegate and wife Tammy all of Peggs, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, many friends and other relatives.

Pallbearers for the service will be Charles Applegate, Dustin Applegate, James Applegate, Christopher Bayless, Brian Duvall, Brandon Hamilton, Billy Kissinger and Chad Doublehead.

Honorary Pallbearers are Angus Clinton, Dennis Smith, Ryan Hembree, Taylor Greenhaw and Jesten Simmons.
