John Henry Tillison the son of James Frederick and Gladys Irene (Reynolds) Tillison was born on December 18, 1938 in the Greenleaf Community and departed this life on October 16, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the
age of 77 years, 9 months and 28 days.
John served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years. Above all else in life, John cherished his family, and enjoyed every minute he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
One might say that he measured his achievements by his children and grandchildren because nothing brought him more joy. He was very proud of his entire extended family and loved them all dearly. John had a strong moral fiber
and firm sense of right and wrong. He was well versed in politics and always had an opinion to share. John touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eleanor F. Tillison; 2 brothers: Robert H. Carr and Ralph Tillison; and 4 sisters: Hazel Gunnison, Mae Smith, Martha Shamel, and Virginia Tillison.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his children John F. Tillison and wife Judy of Tahlequah, Joseph P. Tillison and wife Sharon of Littleton, CO, James E. Tillison and wife Dawn of Ada, OK, Janette E. Carriger of Tahlequah and
Jeffrey A. Tillison and wife Rose of Oviedeo, FL; 3 brothers: Mitchell A. Tillison of Rocky Ford, Raymond F. Tillison and wife Teresa of Potosi, MO, and Bobby Tillison and wife Shelly of Tahlequah; 3 sisters Mary A. Shamel of Park Hill,
Patricia James and husband Alfred of Park Hill and Billie Turner of Park Hill; a very close friend Dolly Tillison of Tahlequah; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive
him.
