Johnnie Phelps

Cookson, OK ~ Funeral Services for Johnnie Lee Phelps will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 30, 2015 at the Cookson Baptist Church with Bro. Bart Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in the Cookson-Proctor Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Johnnie Lee Phelps the son of Guy Leon and Irene (Lancaster) Phelps was born March 4, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 26, 2015 in Cookson, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years and 22 days.

Johnnie enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his car, going to the car shows and loved the race track. He enjoyed watching the races and spending time at the race tracks. In the later years he spent many hours sitting on his front porch watching the birds and the animals and the world go by. Johnnie touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

He is survived by his wife Katie Phelps of the home; his children Sara Leigh Phelps, Kathy Sue Dixon and husband John and Jeffrey Lee Phelps and wife Debbie all of Oklahoma City; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
