Johnnie Phillips

Johnnie Edward Phillips, 84, passed away on January 2, 2026. He was born on April 9, 1941, in Tahlequah, OK, to the late Ernest Phillips and Lavada Bell (Ballard) Phillips.

Graveside Services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Tahlequah City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Hart Funeral Home from 4 PM until 6 PM.

Johnnie graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1961, and married Wynona Sanders February of 1962. He then attended and graduated from Northeastern College with a Masters in Education, where he taught at Tahlequah Jr. High School. He then went on to work for Dale Smith, building homes and Blue Ribbons Downs Horsetrack. Johnnie had a love for cattle and cattle sales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Christian Phillips, brothers, Kenneth Phillips, Chester Phillips, and Wayne Phillips.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Carroll and husband David, and Mona Brown and husband Jerry, sister, Judy Phillips, brothers, Paul Phillips, and David Phillips, granddaughters, Catheryn Jennings, PhD, and husband Ezekiel Choffel, Cristin Carroll, Chasity Jones and husband Tim, and Chloe Brown, half brothers, Billy Jack Burge, Dale Phillips, and Jimmy Phillips, half sister, Gayle Phillips, extended family, Richard W. Smith and family, Robert and Tasha Miller and family and Cooper Green and a host of family, friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please, donate to your favorite charity.
