Jose Montelongo

Our beloved Jose Juan Montelongo passed on May 30th 2020. He was born November 24, 1986, to Betty (Pickup) Reyes. Jose was a wonderful son, brother, father, and friend. He touched the lives of those around him. He leaves behind two daughters, one son, his mother, two sisters and four brothers. He was the first son and second eldest in his family of seven.


Jose Montelongo was such a loving, caring, spirited, kind-hearted soul. He would help anyone in need if he had it. His smile would light up a room. His laughter would automatically cause a chain reaction. He was always so happy.

Jose was always the one to make others laugh and feel loved. He would try to make you feel comfortable. He would just have random conversation with you to get you start talking. He was so smart. He would always teach you something new and never made you feel less than for not knowing. He always wanted to share his knowledge and help someone else grow.

This year has changed for a lot of people. The day to day has made even the strongest mind’s (Jose) weak. Due to the current situation with COVID-19 times have been hard on everyone. He struggled to find a job and take care of himself. He always wanted to be able to provide for himself. He needed that security. Asking for hand outs was a lot for him. It took a lot for him to ask. He finally found work, worked a couple of shifts. We all thought things were starting to change for him. Until we received that call. We didn’t see this coming. He seemed fine and talked like everything was ok. Even a few hours before his death. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
