Kenneth Parks

Kenneth Loyd Parks, age 93, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at his home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with Terry Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of the Hart Funeral Home.

Kenneth Loyd Parks was born September 29, 1929 in Stafford, Oklahoma to William Clifford and Mae Louise (Coles) Parks. Kenneth grew up at Hungry Mountain. He married the love of his life, Mary "Dixie" Girdner. They were married for over 65 years. They owned and operated Caney Ridge Grocery for many decades before retiring. Kenneth's love was working on the ranch with his cattle and Friday night casino trips with Garry, his son-in-law.

Survivors include three children Gail Parks-Wyers of Muskogee, Sally and husband Garry Roberts of Tahlequah, and Bryan "Tuffy" and wife Brandy Girdner of Stilwell, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren Josh, Garry Loyd, Priscilla, Kay Lynn, Matthew, Caden, Jernie, Tyler and Jesse; six great grandchildren Racey, Rider, Sara Kay, Lynnie, Annie Dee and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dixie, one granddaughter Angela, one brother Preston and two sisters Catherine and Bonnie Ruth.
