Larry Eugene Moore, 78, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on February 3, 2026. Born on September 12, 1947, in Susanville, California, he was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Moore. Larry's life was marked by unwavering dedication to family, faith, and service.
Larry's legacy includes a distinguished military career in the United States Army, where he served with valor, including three tours in Vietnam. As a Chaplain Assistant, he earned the Medal of Honor, an embodiment of his commitment to both duty and compassion. Following his military service, he became a minister in 1969, sharing his spiritual guidance and uplifting others in their times of need.
Larry enjoyed spending his free time camping and fishing, relishing the beauty of nature and the peace it provided. He is remembered not only for his service and faith but also for his gentle spirit and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Moore, brothers C.L. Moore and Steve Moore, and sisters Linda Moore and Mary Ray.
Larry is survived by his sons, Kindell Moore and David Moore, daughter Tina Stevens, son Richard Moore and wife Virginia, brother Richard Moore, sister Doris Ry, and cherished grandchildren Desiree, Zoe, Thomas, Anna, and Shilo. He will also be missed by his loving nieces, nephews, and loving family members.
A graveside service will be held on February 20, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Fort Gibson VA Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with military honors befitting his service to the nation.
Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to gather at Hart Funeral Home between 10 AM and 12 Noon to pay their respects and share memories of Larry's extraordinary life.
As we reflect on Larry's journey, we celebrate the impact he has made on so many lives with his character, faith, and love. He will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
