Larry Vance

May 31, 1948 — December 2, 2017

Larry Vance the son of Jeff Gordon and Edith (Redbird) Vance was born May 31, 1948 in Proctor, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 2, 2017 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Larry worked as a diagnostic radiologic technologist for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe for 20 years. He retired in 2012 and moved back to Tahlequah, the place he called home. Larry enjoyed life and he loved his family.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved his grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him but he always had a special place in his heart for "his girls", the granddaughters. He was a family man and
he enjoyed watching his boys play ball through the years. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, and sitting by the creek shooting snakes. He loved listening to music and classic rock was his favorite along with a little Johnny Cash.
He loved his OU football and he got to enjoy watching them win the Big 12 Championship one last time. No matter what he did, he did it with passion. He took pride in everything he did. Whether it be taking x-rays, pitching horseshoes
or providing for his family and grandchildren. Larry touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers John Lee Vance, Bud Dean Vance, Victor Vance, Robert Lee Vance, Junior Vance and Hank Vance; and his sister Alice Vance.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his children Patty Vance, Jeffrey Vance and wife Debra, Bethany Vance-Lindsey and husband Joshua, Larry Barney Vance and wife Laura, Archie Bud Vance,
Caleb Vance and spouse Tisha Steeley, and Sara Vance all of Tahlequah; his brother Earnest Vance and wife Dora of Tahlequah; his sisters Barbara Sanders of Stilwell and Mary Ann Feathers of Tahlequah;
18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
