Laura Taulbee

Laura (Hope) Ann Taulbee passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by family on May 13, 2025 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 56. Laura was born June 23, 1968 in Welling, OK to parents Virgil Leon Taulbee and Thelma Aline Taylor Taulbee.

Laura enjoyed homesteading, raising animals, gardening, walking outdoors, crafting, cooking, and reading about her many interests. She was a strong proponent of living sustainably and supporting responsible agriculture. She raised countless chicks, ducklings, and lambs and even more plants. This passion fueled her throughout her life and led her to share this interest with her children. Laura was always interested in continuing her education, and often took college classes to learn new material, especially regarding nutrition and science. She also completed several 5K’s in her later years and was always looking forward to the next race. Her faith also kept her resilient throughout her life and in her battle against ovarian cancer, for which she sought to spread awareness until her passing.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Leon Taulbee and Thelma Aline Taylor Taulbee; her infant sister, Renata Linn Taulbee.

Laura is survived by her two sons, daughter, and their spouses, Karl (Anthony) and Alicia James of McLoud, Taylor James and Sarah Johnston of Ada, and Stephanie and Michael Bickel of McLoud. Her sister and brothers Diana Taulbee Johnson, Kevin Taulbee, Ronnie Taulbee, and David Taulbee of Welling. Her two grandchildren, Benjamin and Luke James of McLoud. And many more aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends that she loved.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, 10:30 AM, in the Chapel of Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
