Lawanda Archer

LaWanda was born September 14, 1933 in Payne County, Okla. To Floyd & Linda (Porter) Howard. When she was about 5 years of age they moved to a farm 2 miles North of Parkland, where she spent her childhood. She was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of The Firstborn August 18, 1950 By Bro. Earl Greenfield. She married Bennie Alfred Archer on December 15, 1951. To this union 4 children were born, Floyd Alfred, LaWanda Faye, Billy Don, and Larry Eugene who lived only 21 hours. They were happily married for just over 41 years. Ben passed away Mar. 24, 1993. LaWanda married Palmer Lockhart June 2, 2001. Palmer passed away Sept. 25, 2007.
LaWanda enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, her Faith & her children & grandchildren. She loved cooking for family & friends, and visiting with her beloved brethren. She commented often on how grateful she was for the Welling Sisters that came to care for her during the last year of her life.
She was preceded in death by, her parents Floyd & Linda Howard. Her husbands Bennie Archer & Palmer Lockhart. One son Larry Eugene Archer. One daughter and beloved son-in-law LaWanda Faye & Larry Dean Retherford. One Granddaughter, Cathie Marie Retherford. One great-great-granddaughter Nettie Edwards; Six brothers, Melvin Howard, Elvin (Bud) Howard, Bennie Howard, Ray Howard, Ellis Howard, & Dickie Howard; One sister, Ruby Evans; Two brothers-in-law Lester Byers & Jack Evans; & a very special Aunt Minnie Molloy.
She is survived by two sons Floyd Alfred & wife Neva Archer of Fayetteville, AR, Bill & wife Debbie Archer of Montrose Colorado; Two sisters, Violet & husband Chuck Byers, & Bessie Byers of Colorado; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and many friends and loved ones.
