Leslie Wade Woodard

Leslie Woodard, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at Arbor Hills in Plano, Texas, on what would have been his 80th birthday. Born in Miami, Florida, on August 11, 1946, Leslie was blessed with a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Hart Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM until service time.

Leslie was the beloved son of Stanley and Marigold, who predeceased him, and he is survived by his loving wife, Nita, his devoted daughters, Susan and Jeanine, his precious grandchildren, Sofie and Summer, and endearing great-grandchildren, Araya and Abigail. He also leaves behind his dear siblings, Dale and Alan, who shared in many of his life's adventures.

On June 17, 1978, Leslie married his soulmate, Juanita (Nita) Boren, in Richardson, Texas. Together, they spent 48 wonderful years, building a life centered around their family. Their home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where laughter was a constant companion. Leslie and Nita's partnership was a testament to their deep love and commitment to one another.

Leslie graduated from Spring Branch High School in Houston, Texas in 1964. With a profound sense of duty, he chose to serve his country during the Vietnam War. His impressive scores on the Naval entrance exam qualified him to become an Electronics Technician (ET), a role he embraced with dedication and skill. Following his honorable service in the Navy, Leslie embarked on a successful career at Texas Instruments, where he met Nita, and where he worked until his retirement in 2005.

In retirement, Leslie found joy in traveling with Nita, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories. He dedicated time to sharpening his already excellent golf game, a sport he thoroughly enjoyed. Sundays during football season were reserved for cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, a tradition that brought him immense pleasure.

Leslie was known for his warm heart and infectious smile, traits that endeared him to all who knew him. His sincere wink could melt any defenses, and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression. Leslie was respected for his patriotism, strong moral compass, work ethic, and unwavering loyalty. He was a man of integrity, admired by friends and family alike.

Leslie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
