LJ "Jake" Scott, was a caring father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He left this world on February 19, 2025, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Mr. Scott was born on October 30, 1939, in Marysville, California. He relocated to Adair County during his childhood and completed his education at Westville High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. National Guard where he served for four years.
Jake owned and operated Scott's Café in Tahlequah with Patricia Scott for 15 ½ years, after dedicating many years as a commercial carpenter.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and taking care of a variety of animals, including goats, pigs, chickens, geese, dogs, and cats. He also enjoyed cooking, watching westerns, and reading the newspaper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rue Scott, mother, Katie Christine Reese Scott, and two brothers, Bobby Scott and Bill Scott.
Jake is survived by his one daughter, Bobbi Jo Scott and spouse, Dennis Thompson of Tahlequah; two sons, Randall Dean Scott and his spouse Nancy of Tahlequah and Robert Wayne Scott of Tahlequah; four granddaughters, Mackenzie Jaedynn Lannae Scott, Hallie Danielle Castillo, Shayla Mouse , and Morgan Mouse; three great-grandchildren, Randi LeeAnn Scott, Ridge Edward Castillo, and Ahksas Flute; one sister, Silvia Marie Walters; one brother, JD and his spouse, Marsha Scott; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Procter Cemetery in Adair County.
