Lois Reed

June 24, 1930 — February 14, 2021

Lois Elnora Reed the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (Tyler) Campbell was born June 24, 1930, in Guymon, Oklahoma and departed this life on February 14, 2021, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 21 days.

Lois had an adventurous soul and a love for life.
Most of all she loved her family.  She loved her girls and would do anything for them.  She had a deep love for Dean,  she knew him less than 30 days when they married.  He could be a difficult man at times, but she loved him just the same.  They were married 67 years when he passed almost 2 years ago.  How appropriate that she would go to be with the love of her life on Valentines Day.

Lois attended Draughn's school of business.  This paid off as she and Dean were owners of there own business in Muskogee where they were well thought of in the community.  She ran the administrative part of the business.
They were original stock holders in what is now BancFirst.
They retired early, sold their home and traveled.  Lois liked traveling, but eventually wanted a place to call home, so they purchased a piece of property on the Illinois River where they made their home.  They continued to travel for many years.

Lois loved fishing.  She and her mother would sit on the bank of the river and fish all night long while everyone was sleeping.  Later after the girls were grown, her and Dean would take the boat out, it didn't matter what the weather was like.  They had a pontoon boat that they would stay out on all night.  Dean made sure they stayed warm by enclosing it with a tarp of sorts and still be able to fish by cutting a hole in the floor. It was appropriately equipped with beds, so Dean could sleep and Lois could fish to her hearts content.  They also had dear friends that went with them them.

Lois enjoyed the outdoors whether camping, fishing, or gardening.  She loved her flowers, and the beauty they brought to the world.   She enjoyed dancing and would often turn the music on so she and Dean could dance around the house, whether a two-step or the jitterbug.

Lois was graceful and elegant, a lady with class.  She always saw the good in every person.  She was favored by everyone she met.  The nursing home where she lived for the last 6 years of her life was no exception.  They all loved her,  staff and residents alike.  Lois touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dean Reed; her brothers Melvin Campbell, Robert Campbell and David Campbell and her sister Christine Pleasant.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughters Denise Reed of the Republic of Panama and Felecia Lawrence of Park Hill; her brother Luke Campbell and wife June of Talala; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
