Lois Jean Stepp went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 6, 2025 in Tahlequah, OK. She was born in Tahlequah to Harold B. and Lela (Stone) Krouse on February 25, 1933. She married Ed Stepp on September 4, 1952 and they were married 54 years until his passing. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by her whole family.
Lois taught school for 45 years, in several states and in Germany, before retiring after teaching 25 years at Briggs School in Tahlequah. She dearly loved her students and her entire Briggs School family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold B. and Lela Krouse, husband Ed Stepp, brother Harold Lee Krouse, great-grandson Lane Summers, and special sister-in-law and very best friend Mary Sue Gardner.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Michael Wolfe; her grandchildren Nick Summers and wife Channing with their children Autumn, Ellie, Gunner, Lela, Cutter, and Summer Elzie; Jason Summers and wife Ashli with their daughter Jaylee; and Jillian Girty with sons Gage, Landen, and Jake. She also leaves her nieces Tanya and Steve Andrews, Annette Webster, and nephew Bryan and Marlania Krouse; and sisters-in-laws Betty and J.P. Odle and Eva Barrett, along with many other family members and friends.
Per her wishes, no services are planned. Interment will be at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
