Lois Mae Wilmon, 83, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away April 30, 2024, at Cherokee County Nursing Center.

Lois was born April 11, 1941, in Teresita, Oklahoma, to Herman Thompson and Maudie Hicks Thompson.

She married Fredrick Houston Wilmon, December 28, 1957, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They started a family and went on to have a blessed marriage of 35 years. In 1969, they moved to California and returned to Oklahoma in 1975.

Lois was a registered dietitian, where she worked in long-term care facilities.

Lois was a very caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a thoughtful person and loved to do what she could to help people. She loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities when they were growing up. Some of her favorite past times include making candy, Bishop Bread and jelly at Christmas to give to all the special people in her life, going to garage sales, and helping her husband Fred take care of the chickens.

Mrs. Lois will be missed by all of her loving family which includes her two sons, Mike Wilmon and his wife Phyllis and James Wilmon and his wife Sharon, all of Tahlequah; two daughters, Darla Nolen and her husband Todd of Dimmitt, Texas and Beth Berg of Big Oak Flat, California; two brothers, Robert Thompson and his wife Lula of Teresita, Oklahoma and W. R. Thompson; sister, Bobbie Wood of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren, Bret Wilmon and his wife Kirsti, Jason Ingram and his wife Micah, Jeremy Ingram and his wife Christina, Jennifer Ingram, Heath Richards and his wife Heather, Nick Richards and his wife Olivia, Brooke Wyers and her husband Jeremy, Dustin Jones and his wife Shylah, Justin Jones and his wife Lacy, and Denise Hibbs and her husband Wesley; 26 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fredrick Houston Wilmon, who passed away May 10, 1992; two daughters, Shelly Ward and Brenda Dargin; siblings, Doug Thompson, Steve Thompson, Roy Thompson, Junior Thompson, Midge McAtee, Merle Spears, and Martha Lou Simpson.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2024, 5-7 PM, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 3, 2024, 10:00 AM, in the Chapel at Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Miller Cemetery in Tahlequah.
