Loyd Kester

Loyd Kester, 69, of Stilwell, OK, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday February 26th 2024.

Loyd was born on August 20th, 1954 to Johnny Lawrence and Betty Kester in Stilwell, OK. Loyd graduated from Stilwell High School in 1972.

Loyd began his career as a brick mason and later owned Kester Concrete Construction. He was a pastor for over 20 years. He met a lot of wonderful people that became like family.

In 1980, Loyd met Susan in Tahlequah. Loyd and Susan went on to have two children, Amanda Savage and her husband Brent Savage, and Kevin Kester and his wife Aubrey Kester. He was the grandfather of Emma Savage, Riley Kester, Dylan Kester, and Tyler Kester.

Loyd enjoyed spending time with his family and helping people. He was full of laughter and silly humor. Loyd did not know a stranger; he made people feel loved.

Loyd was preceded by his parents Johnny Lawrence and Betty Kester.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Thompson Kester; a son, Kevin Kester and his wife, Aubrey; a daughter, Amanda Savage and her husband, Brent; four grandchildren, Emma Savage, Riley Kester, Dylan Kester, and Tyler Kester; five brothers, Albert Kester, Dennis Kester, Jim Kester, Rick Kester, and Larry Kester; and a sister, Debbie Newman.

Services will be held at Hart Funeral Home on Friday March 1st 2024 at 1pm. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Park Hill, Oklahoma.
