Margaret Esther Hance, age 68 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Margaret Esther Hance was born July 3, 1954 in Sacramento, California to Irvin and Peggy (McCoy) Hance. The family then moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1965. Margaret graduated from the Tahlequah High School and attended Northeastern State University.
Margaret was a cheerleader in middle school, and active in all sports throughout High School. Margaret was a Security Officer in Muskogee, then a homemaker. She was one of the fastest women gun draw artist in the Fast Draw Association. Margaret also worked in the World Parachute Competitions and was a volunteer Storm Chaser for Channel 6 News. Her interests included anything having to do with the weather, painting, and music by Kenny Rogers. Margaret loved her kids and grandkids - and thoroughly enjoyed being involved in everything they had going on. She didn't know a stranger, and had a huge empathetic heart. Her life wasn't easy, and she struggled with her health the entire time, but she was a strong woman and fought every health battle like it was nothing, shocking those around her. She thrived when she was around family, and was a simple woman. When her oldest daughter asked what she would want to do if money, time, and distance wasn't a concern, she said, "I want to go to Wal-Mart and eat at the Chinese buffet."
She is survived by her three children Shawna Hance of League City, TX, Chris Hance and wife Jessica of Tahlequah, OK, and Kim Perry of Fort Gibson, OK; one brother Neil Hance and wife Janet of Tahlequah, OK; six grandchildren Sophia Goodman, Adalyn Perry, KaiLe'A Gibbs, Zabryn Perry, Ecklyn Perry and Kaden Hance.
