Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Hart Funeral Home 1506 N. Grand Avenue in Tahlequah for Marquetta Gail Fulsom, who passed away while sleeping peacefully at home on Easter Morning, Sunday April 4, 2021. A reception for a time of visitation will immediately follow at Salina Park.
Marquetta was born September 28, 1966 in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She enjoyed laughing, getting up early on the weekends to go yard selling, spending time with friends and family, listening to loud music down at the river and hanging out with the cousins. She loved helping wherever and whenever she could. She loved making the neighborhood kids happy by giving them popsicles or candy, she loved taking the back roads and she always made some good jokes in some of the worst of situations.
She leaves behind a family that she loved and cared for and more importantly a family that she was very proud of. Gail never gave up on family, no matter what. Gail was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion, never backing down from a fight and had a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it was not what you wanted to hear.
"What I love about her is, even when she was hurting, she still did whatever she possibly could to make me and others happy," Ninah said. "She had a kind heart. She might've never shown it, but she sure did have a kind heart."
Gail was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She had many friends that loved her as well.
Gail will be sadly missed by her loving companion, Charro; Sister Victoria James, beloved children; Edward Eli French and wife Danielle L. French, Dustin Lee Lowrey and wife Diana Lowrey, Charlie Wayne Lowrey, and Ninah Ann Guerra, beloved grandchildren; Noah, Darcy, Zander, Sophie, Reign, Isabella, Emma and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, by her Mother, Anna Lou James, and Step-Father Grover James Sr., and Brothers Wayne James, Grover James Jr., and Sister Rebecca James and daughter Brittany Dawn James Hooper.
All who loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and caring for them.
