On March 10th, 2021, Mary Ann Vance Feather of Tahlequah, OK Got her wings to go to Heaven. Mary passed at the OSU Medical Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Mary was 78 years of age. Born March 23rd, 1942, To Jeff and Edith Vance of Stilwell, OK.
Mary worked for Cherokee nation as a custodian and also worked for Greenleaf nursery company. Mary loved to laugh and joke around and was definitely known as a high spirited woman, few could keep up with her, she was in high gear all the time. She was a true lover of nature. She was to say the least a avid cat lover, she had many cats and they were her babies. Mary would get up early and cook cornbread every morning to feed the birds. Mary was a big fan of watching movies, watching movies most every night with her boyfriend Lonnie by her side. Some of her favorite shows to watch, was Young & Restless and The Price is Right. She had many wind chimes around the house and was partial to butterflies. She also loved going to the creek close by her house to show everyone what water crest and wild onions where. She also taught how to catch crawdads along the creek, playing cards and her favorite game, dominos that she loved to play with her family.
Mary was a artist and could weave the most beautiful baskets, she supplemented her income with her art work, her baskets were considered some of the best in the area. She also taught classes so that others could learn the art.
Mary Ann as most knew her by, was preceded in death by, her parents, Jeff and Edith Vance, her husbands, Woodrow Feather, Tom Wilson and Floyd Walters. daughter Joan Feather Jolly, Son Joe Allen Feather and Baby boy Feather. Siblings Hank Vance, Buddy Dean Vance, Johnnie Lee Vance, Junior Vance, Victor Vance, Robert Vance, Larry Vance and sister Barbara Vance and Alice Bernice.
Mary Ann's Surviving children, Lisa Redbird-Price And her son Christopher of Muskogee OK, LaVonne and husband Kenneth Cagle of Claremore, OK. Timothy and wife Judy Wilson of Afton, OK. Mathew A. Feather of Tahlequah, Surviving Siblings, Pauline Hilb and husband John of Kankakee, Illinois. And Ernest Vance and Wife Dora of Tahlequah, OK. Mary had more than 17 grand children and multiple great grand children.
Mary will be buried beside her son Joe Feather as was her wish.
