Myrtle was raised in the Methodist Home from the age of 9 years old and she would sing with a Quartet at the Boston Methodist Church in Tulsa. After graduating from Bagley High School Myrtle married Francis Earl Garner in December of 1947 and to this union 12 children were born. Myrtle had a heart for people. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for over 42 years. She loved making quilts and all of her family has a quilt made by her. Not only did she make quilts for her family, she made a quilt for anyone she thought might need one. She donated many quilts to the OHCE quilt show and taught many children to sew and tried to share her knowledge of quilting to many 4H students. Many of Myrtles quilts have been given to people who truly needed them such as burn out victims and blind children. She felt anytime she could donate to someone in need it was always a blessing for her. Myrtle touched many lives over her years of volunteering, working in AWANA at church and just being the generous giving person that she was. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
