Mary Shaffer

Mary Ellen Shaffer the daughter of James R. and Eulalia (Jones) Miller was born April, 28, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 29, 2019 in Cookson, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 1 day.

Mary Ellen enjoyed life and she loved her family. She enjoyed teaching piano and did for many years in the public school system before retiring in Texas. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading. She was very proud of her house plants of which she had over 100. She loved spending her time outside working in her yard. Mary Ellen touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Kristi Dempsey; and her brother David Miller.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her sons Bret Hughes of Tulsa and Jim Shaffer and wife Sharon of Oklahoma City; and her seven grandchildren: Carly, Ben, Brandon, Austin, Parker, Haley and Caden. Several friends and other relatives also survive her.
