Norma Jewett Davis was born in Johnson City, New York on July 13th, 1922 to Smith Paul Jewett and Lucetta King. She was a 1946 graduate of Wheaton College and married Nathaniel Warren Davis on July 27th, 1946.
For decades they served the Lord together, pioneering two mission stations among the Navajo in New Mexico and Arizona, and then joining a linguistic team that completed the translation of the Bible into Navajo, as well as subsequent revisions. They were also part of publishing a Navajo hymnal. They retired in 2000 and moved to Go Ye Village in Tahlequah, OK. Norma's faith in Christ became sight on February 22nd when she slipped into glory. She was preceded in death by her son, David Paul Davis. She is survived by her husband Warren Davis; her daughter Pam (David) Criger of Hernando, MS; three grandsons, Paul (Brandy) Criger of Lebo, KS, Tim (Lisa) Criger and Joel (Camon) Criger of Longmont, CO; six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.
The family will have private graveside rites on Saturday, February 25, followed by a Time of Remembrance at 2:30 p.m. in the Assisted Living Wing of Go Ye Village, 1201 W. 4th Street, Tahlequah, OK. Memorials may be made to Baptist Church Planters, 36830 Royalton Road, Grafton, OH, 44044.
