Patsy Morris

February 9, 1935 — December 20, 2014

Patsy Pat Marie Girdner Morris departed this earth on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Tahlequah, OK. She was born on February 9, 1935 to William Terrell Will T. and Rosa Lee Foutch Girdner in Bunch, OK. She met the love of her life, Bruce Morris at a dance in Ft. Gibson. They were married on October 9, 1956. After living briefly in Wichita, KS, in 1962 they made their home in the Oak Hill community north of Westville. Pat worked for the Dairy Bar and the nursing home in Westville, and loved working with the elderly. She worked for Senior Citizens Nutrition Program for 15 years. She was a member of Lightning Ridge Community Church. Pat was a diehard Democrat, and made sure she voted in elections.
People say there is nothing like a mothers love, and they are right. Pat raised her children to be strong, just as she was. She also taught her children to love others, to work hard, and that it is never too late to mend fences. We were blessed to learn many life lessons from Pat during her 79 years on earth: For example, reuse oxygen tubing to tie up flowers, childproof cabinets, hang a Christmas wreath, tie a gate shut, or tether a tv antenna. Disposable cups can be washed and reused. Save every butter container, ice cream bucket, or plastic bowl because it might come in handy some day. Good fences make good neighbors. Work like a man, but act like a lady. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Always be like your daddy. Be true to your word.
Pat excelled at growing flowers, planting, harvesting and canning food from her garden, drinking coffee every morning, living within her means, outsmarting varmints, sewing, crafting, and cooking. She loved to sit on her front porch to watch the hummingbirds and squirrels. She put out food to coax neighborhood cats up for a visit. She loved to use her remote control to flip between watching Dr. Phil and anything on OETA. Pat took extreme pride in her two greatgrandsons, Chance and Jett French, who lovingly referred to her as Nana BooBoo.

She was preceded in death by her favorite cowboy, her husband of 52 years, Bruce her parents, Will T. and Rosa Lee Girdner her brothers, Simon, Jake, Leroy, John, and Woodrow Punk Girdner, and many nieces and nephews.
Pats legacy is carried on by her sister, Gladys GirdnerHogner of Tahlequah daughter, Brenda Blackwood of Tahlequah son Jeff Morris wife Elsie of Westville son Ronald Lasley wife Poppy of Westville stepdaughter, Lynda Krog husband Jim and family of Draper, UT grandchildren Amanda French, Tandra Morris, Justin Tye, Rachel Tye, Cynthia Perkins, Rebecca Lasley, and Alicia Stanley, several greatgrand children, and an extended family of relatives and friends.
