Patsy Pat Wickliffe Quetone, 81, of Tahlequah, OK, passed away August 18, 2014 after a lengthy rehabilitation following hip surgery from a fall in April. She was born on December 5, 1932, in Kenwood, OK, to Fannie Hedrick and Charley Wickliffe, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Beaver, brother, Otis Wickliffe, and grandson, Joshua David Tsotigh. She is survived by her sister, Lois Noble, and spouse, Jim, of Stilwell and her brothers, Sonny, Kenwood, OK and Leon Wickliffe, of Bull Hollow. She is also survived by four children, Guy Quetone, of Chickasha, OK Alana Quetone and spouse, Jacob Tsotigh, Jr., of Norman, OK Steven Quetone, of Tahlequah, OK and Cameron Quetone, of Norman, OK. Nine grandchildren: Robert Allen Quetone, Ivan Tsotigh, Jacob Tsotigh, III, Jenna Tsotigh, Holli Quetone, Sienna Quetone, Zach Quetone, Muira Quetone, and Adam Quetone. Eight greatgrandchildren,and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pat was an intelligent young woman who skipped a grade in high school and ventured on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she met her future husband, Allen Quetone, a member of the Kiowa Tribe. She joined him in union and followed his career in the Bureau of Indian Affairs moving her young family from Norman, to Tulsa, to Albuquerque, NM, to Aberdeen, SD, to Horton, KS, to Vienna, VA, to Concho, OK, and finally to Anadarko, OK, serving as a devoted spouse and loving mother and homemaker. She was a lifelong United Methodist Church member. After divorce, she continued her formal education and received her B.A. from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, OK 1982. She finally returned to her people in Tahlequah in 2002 where she resided until her untimely fall. She enjoyed reading and writing about her Cherokee people and the Kiowas whom she married into. She enjoyed the activities of her Cherokee people including the Cherokee National Holiday during Labor Day each year. She was strongwilled and unafraid to voice her opinion and perspective. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family
