Paul Bryan Chambers, Jr. of Tahlequah was born April 1, 1930, in Stilwell, OK to Paul Bryan Sr. and Alyene (White) Chambers.
He married Barbara Holcomb on January 27, 1951. He earned his bachelor's degree with a double major in both Vocal and Instrumental music, from Oklahoma A&M College now known as (OSU) in Stillwater, OK in 1951. Paul started his career as a band director in Helena, OK and then Checotah, OK as the band director and also taught vocal music. In 1956 he joined the staff of the First United Methodist church of Muskogee, where he served in many capacities- such as youth director, business manager and choir director for 36 years. He moved to Go Ye Retirement Village in 2010. Paul passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021, in Tahlequah at Go Ye Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Bryan Sr., Alyene (White) Chambers and son-in-law Larry Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Go Ye Village, four daughters Becky Anderson and husband Mitch of Sand Springs, OK Paula Henderson of Coweta, OK Kathy Chambers of Muskogee, OK and Jennifer Wallace and husband Jeff of Moore, OK 8 grandchildren, Rachel Campbell, Melissa Barnes, Schuyler Anderson, Elijah Anderson, Matt Henderson, Josh Henderson, Kayla Doiron and Kristin Johnson and their families. 12 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends who also survive him.
The family wishes you would please bring and wear a mask to the visitation and funeral. Memorials can be made to Rhody Christian Fellowship, PO Box 1647, Kingston, RI 02881 where his grandson Matt Henderson is the campus minister and is working to spread God's Word, which made Paul very proud.
