Pearlene Flute

Pearlene Cheater Flute daughter of William and Emma (Christie) Cheater; born September 25, 1949, in Tahlequah ,OK. She went on to her heavenly home on July 29,2025 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 75.

Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Tuesday, August 5,2025 at Hart Funeral Home, burial to follow at Barber Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 PM until 7 PM, Monday, August 4, 2025 at Hart Funeral Home Chapel.

Pearlene was known as Buxie to many close family and friends. She was married to George (Watt) Flute and to this union was blessed five children, 25 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. Buxie was known for her love of cooking she made a mean pot of dumplings. She always watched her brothers work on cars and probably could be a shade tree mechanic herself. She attended grade school at Marble City and finished at Sequoyah High School, She got her certificate from Flaming Rainbow and taught at Cookson Headstart. Also worked as a Nurse Aide at a local nursing home. She spent many years at Greenleaf Nursery until she moved on to be a cook at Sequoyah High school for 20 plus years until her retirement and then she spent being a secret shopper for thrift stores from Tahlequah to Tulsa. Above all Buxie was a child of God. Several years ago she accepted by faith Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior knowing that her name is written in the Lambs Book of Life.

Those preceding Buxie in death include her husband George (Watt) Flute; her parents William and Emma Cheater; her sister Maxine Washington ,her brother Nick Cheater; her daughter Sheila Garcia, her niece Shelby Washington, one grand baby, and one great-grand baby "Jack"; her father/mother in law Levi and Maggie Flute; four brother-in-laws and three sister-in-laws.

Buxie leaves behind a loving family which includes her children Eric and wife (Jennifer), Alene Wacoche, LaJauna Rubio, all of Tahlequah, and Melton and (wife) Carrie Flute of Sapulpa, Ok., Twenty four living grandchildren, and Twenty-five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Wilma Jean Cheater Bohlken and (husband) Dennis of Wichita, KS, her sister Marquita Cheater of Tahlequah; and her brother Dale Eugene Cheater of Stilwell. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, and extended family & friends.
