Phyllis Grubbs

Phyllis Jane Grubbs was born in Kiowa Oklahoma on September 27th 1934, the daughter of Douglas and Lilly Derryberry. Early in life, Phyllis made a proclamation of faith to follow and accept Christ as her personal Savior. Throughout her life, Phyllis lived out her devotion to Christ as she married on April 15th, 1950 the love of her life, Glenn Victor Grubbs. Their marriage was blessed with three children, a daughter in law and two grandchildren. Phyllis lived to see all of them proclaim Christ as their Savior.
Phyllis was a devoted mother and wife. Loved to fish, enjoy the outdoors, travel and was known as a pretty good basketball player. Always active in their church, she and Glenn would often spend their personal vacation time volunteering at the annual youth summer camp. They retired to Go Ye Village where they made lasting friendships with other residence and staff.
Phyllis Grubbs passed from this life on Sunday July 13th, 2014 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents her daughter, Glenna Grubbs, in 1977 her son, Phil Grubbs, in 1992 her husband Glenn Grubbs in 2010 and her brother Douglas Derryberry.
Her memory will be treasured by her survivors: her son, Scott Grubbs and wife Tonia Von Ohlen her grandsons, Benjamin and Jacob of Manhattan Kansas as well as extended family and friends.
