Robert Van Williams May 7th 1964 - April 17th 2024
Robert (Robbie) Van Williams, born May 7th, 1964, passed away April 17th, 2024, surrounded by love and caring of his brother and sisters in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Rob, a Cherokee citizen is survived by his son that he loved and was very proud of, Race Bannon Williams, his siblings Rose Marie Williams, Amy Rebecca Williams, and Mark E. Williams. He also has a nephew from his late sister Martha Jane Collins, Jeremy Collins, and his wife Amanda. Robert was preceded in death by Martha, a talented Cherokee artist, his mother Virginia Bebe Twist a Cherokee member, and his father Robert E. Williams. His Grandfather Felix A Twist, Cherokee, and Grandmother Rose Runyon Twist.
Rob was born in Rogers Arkansas and was a very talented artist and chose music as his creative path and occupation. A working musician for his early life, he was recognized as a very talented rock musician and an excellent guitar player. He studied and played beside prominent musicians and traveled worldwide. He spoke fluent German, and he lived and played in Germany for several years. He was known for his Classical Heavy Metal style of guitar playing. Robbie chose to leave the road later in life to marry and welcomed his son Race Bannon Williams, that he said was the proudest moment and achievement of his life.
Rob was also very proud of his Cherokee heritage and to be the grandson of Felix A. Twist of Tahlequah Oklahoma and Willow Springs Missouri. Rob passed away much too early in life and was cared for in his final days by his siblings, and the Cherokee Nation. The Family wished to thank everyone for their care, and Hart Funeral home of Tahlequah in making the event as easy as possible for our family and our brother and friend. Wado.
Memorial service will be private between immediate family. His ashes will be spread in a beautiful Ozark creek where is mother and sister were placed. Prayers are welcomed for Rob.
