Roberta Jones

Lottie Roberta Jones the daughter of Sam and Lottie (Bradley) Staton was born September 25, 1935, in Braggs, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 5, 2020, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years and 10 days.

Roberta married Brodie, the love of her life, on February 1, 1955, and they were married for 61 years. She loved her family and enjoyed her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great cook, though most of the time she'd say, "I don't think this will be any good." However, it was always the best. She loved sports where in high school she participated in basketball, softball and track. She loved watching sports, especially her grandchildren, in whatever sport they were in at the time. Taking trips with Brodie was top on her list, especially going to Branson. She was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church and was very strong in her faith. She put God first in her life and encouraged her family and friends to do the same. For years, she was involved in mission work and also delivered Meals on Wheels. Roberta was a special lady who left an impression on many lives over the years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Brodie Jones; her sisters Corrine Bryson and Willene Pierce and her brother Edwin Staton.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Debbie Lowry and husband David of Tahlequah, Cathy Richards and husband John of Broken Arrow, Julie Luellen and husband Gary of Glenpool and Duane Jones and wife Tanya of Tahlequah; her brother Hulin Staton and wife Lois of Muskogee; 6 grandchildren; Jason Lowry and his wife Amy, Scott Lowry and his wife Meghan, Mitch Richards, Allie O'Hara and her husband Dan, Brodie and Jaxon Jones. 4 great-grandchildren; Amelia and Vivian Lowry, Maggy Lowry and Benjamin O'Hara; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
