Ronald Keith Pilcher the son of Thomas Marvin and Bertha Jane (Herrin) Pilcher was born March 10, 1935 in Moodys, Oklahoma and departed this life on April 1, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 22 days.
Keith graduated from Bagley High School in Tahlequah and went on to Northeastern State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education. He later earned his Master's Degree. He joined the Army serving for two years active, two years reserve and two years inactive. He was one of the founding members of the Elk's Lodge in Tahlequah and was a member since 1972. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tahlequah, American Legion and the Bedouin Shriner's each for over 35 years. He served as a bartender and secretary at the Elk's for several years. Keith worked at the Cherokee County Courthouse for over 20 years before retiring, he also worked for Cherokee Nation for over five years. Keith had side jobs as well just to keep busy, one was an Insurance Adjuster which allowed him to travel around for a few years. He was very proud of his Cherokee Heritage passed down from his mother. He married Mary Young November 19, 1994 and they spent the rest of their lives together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Young Pilcher; his brothers Roy Pilcher, Curtis Pilcher and Willard Pilcher; and his sisters Ethel Coop, Lorene Richardson, Clara Ford, Marie Combs, Doris Beidler, Berniece Alderson, Tommie Osburn, and Cleo Combs.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his son Jeffrey Keith Pilcher of Melbourne, FL; his sister Faye Denney and husband Tal of Marietta, CA; Mary's children and grandchildren and some very special friends Paula Miller of Tahlequah, Emma Jordan of Tahlequah and Bryson and Sabrina Lane of Muskogee. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
