Rose Mary was born in Lowery, OK, October 5, 1931, to Jacob and Grace (Warren) Sanders. She died January 26, 2022, at the age of 90 in Cherokee County Nursing Center, which she called "home." She was married to Jay Warren Davis at the tender age of 19. He was in the Army at the time and saw some of the United States.
She was the wife of a minister and a Christian for over 70 years. Rose Mary was a Sunday school teacher, and her children loved her. She also worked at Wal-Mart, Hinds Department store, she also volunteered at Remarkables in town. She liked working in the public and meeting new people. Rose Mary was a member of both the Moody Church of Christ, as well as the South College Church of Christ in Tahlequah.
Rose Mary liked being outdoors, instead of being inside. She gardened, worked in her flower beds, and took care of her strawberries. She mowed the lawn for as long as she was able, then the grandkids took over the mowing. Her hobby was crocheting, she made many baby blankets for gifts.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 1, 2022, from 5-7pm. Services will be Wednesday February 2nd, 2022, at 10 AM, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. This will be officiated by Chris Stinnett.
She is survived by her daughter Pat and her husband Duane Blackford of Rose, OK. Her grandchildren: Ronald Dean Bentley of Lake Dallas, TX; Raechel Bentley of Lake Dallas, TX; Jayson Bentley and wife Shalene of Piedmont, OK; Michael Davis and wife Dana of Tahlequah, OK; Melissa Micheli and husband Joe of Long Beach, CA. Two great- grandchildren as well as two step great- grandchildren; Brother Louis Sounders and wife Pauline of Tahlequah, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Jacob and Grace Sounders, her husband Jay Warren Davis; her sister Beatrice Powers and husband Cleo; her son Bert and daughter in-law Debbie Davis. She will rest in peace next to the love of her life in Tahlequah City Cemetery.
Family has requested for there to be no hugs due COVID-19.
