Rose Marie Pierce, a beloved mother and cherished member of the community, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 27, 1934, in Stroud, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Elizabeth (Johnson) Thompson. Rose touched the hearts of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
A devoted member of The Double Springs Church of God, Rose held a deep love for the Bible and shared her faith generously with those around her. She was known for her beautiful quilts and often spent her days on her front porch, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life while watching the wildlife that graced her yard.
Rose was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim Nolan Pierce, as well as her beloved daughters, Kathy Jo Pierce and Nora Jean Doty. She also mourns the loss of her brother, James Thompson, and her sisters, Hazel Orr, Pearl Pierce, Peggy Johnson, Donna Mae Teague, and Juanita Thompson, who were all an integral part of her life.
She is survived by her son, Jim Daniel Pierce, and her daughter, Sally (Ron) Williams, along with her brother, Dennis Thompson, and sisters, Ella Mae Dean Costillo and Dale Evans Delcore.
Rose was a proud grandmother to Sam Nolan Doty, James Dean Wade, Lora Marie Howell, and John Daniel Wade, and a doting great-grandmother to Kourtney Renee Taylor, Hallie Danielle York, Brittany Nicole Hargrove, Jessica Dean Ellis, Katelyn Rena Wade, Rebekah Chanice Pillow, Jakeb Marshall Fairfield, Alyssa Renee Nash, Hayden Lee Taylor, and Fallon Rose Taylor. She also leaves behind many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a network of loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
In celebration of her life, a Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Tahlequah City Cemetery. The family invites all who knew and loved Rose to join them in honoring her memory during this meaningful ceremony.
Though Rose will be greatly missed, her spirit and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
