Ruby Jewel Geasland the daughter of George Paris and Bertha (Johns) Sweet was born September 24, 1933 in Bald Hill, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 12, 2017 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 18 days.
Ruby enjoyed life loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, working crossword puzzles, gambling, playing SkipBo, fishing and quilting. She made each of her grandchildren a quilt. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Not only did she enjoy doing it, but the family enjoyed eating it. Dustin would always ask for a green pie and Ruby made her famous pistachio pie for him. She was a hard worker and spent many years gathering turkeys on the family turkey farm. It may not have been her favorite thing but she was doing it anyway. You never had to wonder where she stood or what she was thinking. Ruby touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bobby D. Geasland; her son Douglas Geasland; her brothers Don Sweet and George Sweet Jr.; and her sisters Billie Fanning and Juanita Child.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her son David Geasland of Tahlequah; her sister Deloris Wilson of Arkansas; her grandchildren Denae Geasland of Tahlequah, Dustin Geasland of Tahlequah, Derrick Geasland of Tahlequah, Jessie Purcell of Tahlequah and Jackson Purcell of Seattle, WA; and her great grandchildren Anna Scott, Dylan Scott, Grayson Geasland, Lawson Geasland, Kinsey Gesland, and Paxson Geasland. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
