Ruby Watson

Ruby P. Watson the daughter of Milton Oscar and Mary Elizabeth (Mefford) Gallaher was born August 16, 1917 in Carney, Oklahoma and departed this life on August 17, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 99 years and 1 day.

Ruby worked as the secretary at the First Baptist Church for over 43 years. She loved the Lord and enjoyed serving in whatever capacity she could. She was very devoted to the church and to the church activities. She came from a musical family and she was very talented with the Harmonica. She would often entertain at different church activities with her Harmonica. She enjoyed taking walks and would walk more than two miles a day. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and sewing. Ruby was an immaculate housekeeper. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Ruby touched many lives over the span of her life and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband H. Ray Watson; her brothers Don Gallaher, Howard Gallaher, and Dale Gallaher; and her sister Dortha Nunamaker.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Dr. Gary R. Watson and wife Sung of Modesto, CA and David Watson and wife Carol of Tahlequah; 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
