Ruby Jeanne Wofford, age 70, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2015 at the residence of her son in Springdale, Arkansas.
Ruby, was born Ruby Jeanne Houchin on November 27, 1944 in Albert Lee, Minnesota. She relocated to Teresita, Oklahoma where she attended Oaks Mission High School. Ruby was the owner and proprietor of Cameo Hair Fashions in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a real estate investor and after 26 years with Northern State University she retired from her career in Academic Advisement.
Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Terry Alvin Wofford and parents Rosie Bell McCelland and Toy Alvin McCelland.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jim Leon Wofford of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; her son, William Kevin Wofford and his wife Katinka with grandchildren: Fletcher (17), Holden (7), Elain (6) and Neyo Paige (9 mos); her sister, Linda Thilges and her husband John Thilges of Peggs, Oklahoma with children Traci, Angie, Melanie and Jason; her brother, Jimmy McCelland of Cedar Crest with children Brian, Lorenda and Cindy; many cousins and great nieces, nephews and adoring friends.
At Ruby's request, there will be no showing or formal funeral. Hart's Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma will provide a grave side service at Moody's Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 am.
A memorial will be held at the Wofford's residence in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Ruby Jeanne Wofford.
In lieu of flowers, please send to Hart's Funeral Home or accompany them to the Moody's Cemetery.
