Russell Smith

Russell Howard Smith the son of Howard and Nellie (Kellar) Smith was born May 25, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa and departed this life on January 20, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.



Russell was the owner and operator of Smitty's Donut Shop in Des Moines, Iowa for many years before moving to the Cookson area in July 1980. He enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling, playing cards and being out on the lake. Russell truly enjoyed the lake life and loved Lake Tenkiller. He cherished his time spent with his grandchildren. Russell touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.



He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Barbara Smith of the home; his children Randy Smith and wife Kathie of Kirkland, WA, Kevin Smith and wife Mossolene of Brookland, AR, and Jana Brent and husband Warren of Lascassas, TN; their mother Naomi Smith of Las Cassas, TN; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Many friends and other relatives also survive him.
