Sam Triplett, 87, of Tahlequah, went home to be with his mother and heavenly Father on March 22, 2018. Born on August 25, 1930, in the Hogeye community, Sam was the fifth child of Will and Madlene Triplett.
Sam graduated from Bagley High School and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He spent his years creating meaningful connections with countless people through his preaching of the gospel and his endearing charm and wit. Sam could always be found with a smile on his face, especially when he was with his family. The proudest day of his life was when his only daughter, Mary, was born, and he never missed an opportunity to tell folks how proud he was of his daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even in his final days, Sam was committed to his life calling of sharing in the love of his family and spreading the message of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Though Sam will be sorely missed, his legacy will continue through those who loved him. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Thomas Crow; grandchildren, Tadd and Todd Crow, Taylor Hughes, and Kelli Butler; great grandchildren, Taytum, Teegan, and Alyza Crow; sisters, Sally Foster and Mary Rogers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Madlene Triplett; brothers, John and Edward Triplett; and sisters, Winona Henshaw, Estell Cooper, and Billie Ferguson.
