Samuel Edward Smith

Samuel Smith, born on April 15, 1930, passed away on September 21st 2026, at the age of 96, surrounded by the love of his family. Samuel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend whose kindness, strength, and love for his family will be cherished for generations to come.

Samuel was the son of Claude and Alta Smith. Sam worked as a mason worker and had a great appreciation for the craft.

On June 3, 1950, Samuel married the love of his life, Audjoy Smith. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, commitment, and partnership that spanned decades.

Samuel was a devoted husband and loving father to his five children. He found his greatest joy in caring for his family and creating lasting memories with those he loved. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed exploring new places alongside his wife. He also loved watching any western movie he could find and enjoyed the daily news and current events.

Samuel is preceded in death by his son, Danny Smith and wife Audjoy Smith.

He is survived by his loving family; his daughters, Angie Papin and husband Paul of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Cheryle Johnson and husband David of Park Hill, Oklahoma; his sons, Darrell Smith and wife Lisa of Eldon, Oklahoma, and Richard Smith of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends who will continue to honor his memory through the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind.

Samuel will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family and his adventurous spirit. The memories he created, the traditions he passed down, and the love he freely gave will remain a treasured gift to all who knew him.

Funeral Service 11 AM, Monday, October 5, 2026 at Hart Funeral Home, burial to follow at Tahlequiah City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 AM until service time.
