Serena Jean Largent the daughter of Joseph and Mary Alice (Jefferies) McQueen was born June 24, 1923 in Penbrook, Ontario, Canada and she departed this life on April 3, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Serena loved life and she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was very active in the Episcopal Church before her health got bad and she stayed very involved with the church activities. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and Europe. She enjoyed getting her hair done and she always wanted to look her best. She loved going to Broadway shows and tried to see as many as she could. Her family was the most important to her, she loved her kids and grandkids and she enjoyed spending time with them. Serena touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Henry Largent; her daughter Janet Ann Largent; her brother Gilbert McQueen; and her sister Elizabeth McQueen.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughter Ali Largent of Tahlequah; her grandchildren Brandy Shackelford of Muskogee, Joshua Gray and wife Micaela of Tahlequah, and Preston Gray and wife Danyelle of Poteau; her great grandchildren Levi Buchanan of Tahlequah, Dalton Buchanan and wife Laken of Muskogee, Wyatt Shackelford of Muskogee, Kierstn Gray and Hayden Gray both of Poteau, Gatlynn Gray of Tahlequah; and her great-great grandchild Kamden Buchanan of Muskogee. Several friends, other relatives, and loved ones also survive her.
