Shirley Gallion

September 14, 1935 — September 11, 2021

Shirley W. Gallion was born on September 14, 1935, in Paris, Texas, to J.C. Ball and Mattie Sue Graham Ball. Shirley went on to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Tahlequah, OK, at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 28 days.

Shirley spent the first few years of her life in Texas before her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the 1940's. She graduated from Central High School in 1953. Shirley later met, and then married, the love of her life, Harold Gallion, in 1960. They moved to the Gallion family farm in Peggs, OK, in 1970, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Harold preceded his wife in death in August of 2008. Together, they shared a wonderful 48 years!

Shirley loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. She enjoyed bird watching, making quilts, and embroidering. She always loved having and tending to her garden and planting flowers. She had a love for the game of train dominoes and liked playing cards with family and friends. She was an active member of the Clear Creek FWB Church. Shirley loved serving the Lord. She was a light in this world and will truly be missed.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, one sister, one grandson, and one great grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Roger Blanton and wife Brenda of Tulsa, OK, Debbie Bishop of Claremore, OK, and Karen Scott and husband Boyd, of Peggs, OK. Grandchildren: Brandon Melott, Ryan Blanton and wife, Sarah, Deckard Melott and his wife Sarah, Rachel Blanton, Brady Scott, Hannah Carathers and husband, Matthew, and Rebekah Woolery and husband Eric. She had 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Nicholson and husband, John, and a dear friend of over 60 years, Charlene Lyons, as well as other extended family members and friends.
