Shirley Smith

February 19, 1946 — October 22, 2025

Shirley Imadell Smith, 79 years, 8 months of Hulbert, OK, was born February 19th, 1946, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Arvel Edward Thompson and Ola Imadell (Powers) Thompson. She died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be 1:30 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 3 PM until 6 PM at the funeral home.

She was survived by her three daughters, Shari and Bud Sides of Moody, OK, Regina Farrow of Ft. Gibson, OK, Debra and Robert Winfield of Hulbert, OK, 8 loving grandchildren, Latasha (Charles), Kevin (Alana), Nahtanha (Marcel), Cory (Vanessa), Kyle (Bethany), Kalun, Claburn, Tyler (Alyssa) and an honorary grandson, Chris (Cora), 13 loving great-grandchildren, Alex, Sean (Nevaeh), Tristan, Jackson, Dakota, Ryder, Raegyn, Bodhi, Serenity, Landon, Abby, Avyien, and Brooklyn, 3 brothers, Billy and Wanda Thompson, Bobby Thompson, and Tony Thompson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years and 10 months, James C. Smith, her parents and one brother, Jerry Thompson and a special sister-in-law, Sue Smith, and numerous brothers & sister-in-law's.

Shirley was very loved by her family and enjoyed "making memories" with all of her family and friends. She was "Mamaw" to a host of grandkids and great grandkids. She was a wonderful "Mama" to her three daughters and a loving wife to her husband. She could not turn down a good garage sale find and often said when she would haul her finds home, "I'm just doing this for your girls to have fun going through and I will be looking down from heaven laughing at y'all." One of her favorite past-times was making embroidered quilts and playing games on her I-Pad.

We will miss her very much but know in our hearts that she is in no more pain and in a better place alongside her loving husband, Jim, sharing a piece of gum just like the day they met at Capital Hill Movie Theater in Oklahoma City!
