Sue Medearis Wyly the daughter of Dr. Park Hinds and Carolyn (Maratta) Medearis was born November 24, 1926 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on May 3, 2017 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Sue married Sidney McNair Wyly on May 29, 1948 and to this union five sons were born. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was very talented and artistic. She painted portraits and sewed many of her own clothes. Sue enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques which she also sold. Sue embarked on several endeavors after her ‘boys' were all grown which included owning and operating Sue's House of Antiques, working in real estate with her son Mark at Wyly-Connor Real Estate and partnering with her brother to develop Colonial Manor Apartments for which she also drew the floor plans. Sue was a fiery Sagittarian with a sharp sense of humor and a happy-go-lucky nature regarding life's journey. Sue touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Robert P. Medearis; her sister Lillian Medearis and her granddaughter Rachel Sue Wyly. She was also preceded in death by her nephews John George Medearis and Matthew Frank Medearis.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her sons Dr. Michael Wyly and wife Marilyn of Tahlequah, Mark Wyly and wife Susan of Tulsa, Robert Sidney Wyly of Tahlequah, John M. Wyly of Tahlequah and James Clark Wyly and wife Stephanie of Texarkanna, TX; and her grandchildren Daniel M. Wyly, Mary Katherine Wyly and James Michael Wyly. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Martha Medearis, her niece Suzanne Hathaway and nephew Park Medearis as well as several other relatives.
