Our Momma has always had a beautiful soul within her...Each time she smiled, oh, the twinkle in her eyes was so very bright...we loved her laugh which was contagious...She quickly won the hearts of each person who came into her life...

Momma found joy and pride each time she would sit down to create a new project whether knitting (which she taught herself to do before we left to join our Daddy in Turkey in 1965)...Her sewing started as a teenager, and she blossomed from there into cross stitching, onto quilting, on to embroidery...Her creativity was endless...fortunately "Momma's Love of the Needle" was passed down to Kathy and Karen was also gifted with her passion for cross stitching.

Simple things Momma loved were our Grandmother Thomson's roses which was Momma's mother...Pansies with their bright colors that seem to say, "Spring has Arrived"...Butterflies flying with their gracefulness and landing in impossible winds to once again be free to continue their journey onward to bring smiles to others in our world...AND...now, the best for last which is "Momma & Her Hummingbirds"...She was enamored by them, they would bring a calmness to her along with the most "Heavenly Smile" to brightly lit eyes...So be sure to pay close attention as you walk into the bright sunshine, listen to the winds with your heart, and keep going forward towards your dreams with God as your "Guide"

Momma was so much a southern woman, proper (always), mannerly, always caring of others. But she had a side to her that she shared with us about how she loved climbing trees as a child and wanted to live in them!! She loved to run, we think she either ran track or wanted to...

Her first love was Daddy...Her second love...The Ocean. When she first married Daddy, they were stationed in Monterey, California which was a dream come true. She said it was the most magnificent sight to behold...They lived right on the ocean in an extremely small "Yellow Victorian Style house!!"

We were very blessed to have had Robert R. Auten and Susanne Thomson Auten as our parents. ...Our dream for them is to walk through "Eternity" hand in hand.
