Terry Garrett

Terry Alan Garrett the son of Terry and Connie (Dudley) Garrett was born April 13, 1983 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 23, 2017 in Stigler, Oklahoma at the age of 33 years, 9 months and 10 days.

Alan was a fun loving guy who enjoyed life and all that it had to offer. He was in the happiest place in his life with the love of his life wife Terri and children Nick, Haley and Raylee. He loved hunting and came to cherish it even more when he started being able to hunt with Nick. He found out that being a dad was more enjoyable than anything he had done and he loved his kids dearly. He was becoming an expert at braiding hair, making tutus and baking with an Easy Bake Oven with Haley and Raylee. Alan loved to cook and took pride in smoking and grilling meat. He enjoyed getting together with friends and family and cooking the meat for the party. Alan was named as an All State Trainer in High School and was a student athletic trainer for the NSU Men's Basketball National Championship Team. He had a passion for helping people and because of that he became an EMT. He worked as an EMT for over 8 years for Tahlequah City Hospital EMT, Muskogee County EMT, was currently working for Southeast EMT and was pursuing his Paramedic certification. He was an EMT instructor at ICTC and a CPR instructor as he thought that everyone should know how to perform CPR. Alan loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He set up a little farm around his place and started raising hogs and chickens. He enjoyed taking care of the animals and doing the chores around the house. Alan touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Garrett, Chris Garrett, Keith Dudley, Austin Glory, Bobby Hayes, Clayton Newbolt, and Nick Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be his EMT brothers and sisters.

Alan is survived by a very loving family which includes his wife Terri Garrett of the home; his children Nicholas Garrett, Haley Garrett and Raylee Garrett also of the home; his parents Terry and Connie Garrett of Tahlequah; his sister Amy Gilliam of Bentonville; father-in-law Jimmy Hayes of Tahlequah; nieces Oakley Gilliam and Kenzie Gilliam of Bentonville; sister-in-law Teresa Hayes of Tahlequah; brother-in-law Bobby Hayes and wife Ashley of Tahlequah; nephews Hunter Hayes and Zachary Gilmore of Tahlequah; and his maternal grandparents Bill and Dixie Dudley of Park Hill. A host of friends, coworkers and other family members also survive him. Alan was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Linda Hayes and his paternal grandparents George and Bonnie Garrett.
