Tommy McDaniel, age 68, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026.
Born on June 18, 1958, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Tommy was the son of David Dewey McDaniel and Allie Effie (Rodgers) McDaniel. On September 17, 1977, he married the love of his life, Lynn Michelle (Hensley) McDaniel, in Keys, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered around love, laughter, and family.
Tommy dedicated much of his life to working as a heavy equipment operator until declining health made it impossible for him to continue. He was known for his hardworking nature and larger-than-life personality. Tommy could always be counted on to bring laughter to those around him. Whether he was telling jokes, teasing the kids, or sharing stories, he had a way of making everyone smile.
He found his greatest happiness spending time with his family. When he wasn't with the people he loved, he could often be found working on a car, truck, or four-wheeler. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the drag races. Tommy lived life to the fullest and treasured every moment spent doing the things he loved.
Tommy's adventurous spirit, stubbornness, generous heart, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud Papa, caring brother, loyal friend, and a man whose love for his family knew no bounds.
Tommy is now reunited in eternal peace with the love of his life, Lynn McDaniel; his brothers, Marion, Billy, and David Allen McDaniel; and his sister, Charlene Trammell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three sons, Nathan McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, and David McDaniel; his sisters, Debbie Petree, Margie Wright, and Wanda Morgan; six beloved grandchildren, Chelsea, Shawn, Mark, Krysta, Halee, and Addyson; and nine treasured great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Hayes, Paisley, Ava, Grayson, bralynn, Raelynn, Hudson, and Aemond. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
In accordance with the family's wishes he will be cremated, and no formal funeral service will be held. Instead, the family will celebrate his life on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Tommy's home. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Tommy are invited to gather, share memories, celebrate his life, and say their final goodbyes.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Tommy's love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Rest easy and fly high, Papa. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
