Celebration of Life service will be held for Troy Clyde Childress Jr. will be held from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday February 11, 2018 at the Tailholt Community Building.
Troy Clyde Childress Jr. the son of Troy Clyde Sr. and Opal L. (Davis) Childress was born April 7, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on February 3, 2018 in Cookson, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Troy loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to fish and enjoyed being outdoors regardless of what he was doing. He was a welder by trade and he enjoyed making things out of metal. He had quite the talent in metal craft. He loved his grandchildren and his family meant the world to him. Troy touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father; his wife Cheryl Elizabeth Childress; his daughter Lisa Salgado; his sister Rhonda Jones and two infant brothers.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his significant other Sue Childress Pippin of the home; his mother Opal Childress of Tahlequah; his children Julie Collier of Cookson and partner Tom Synder, Troy Don Childress of Cookson, Christine Hamilton and husband Robbie of Broken Arrow, and Kristy Jean Whorton and husband Robert of Rule, TX; his brothers Sam Childress of Lewisville, TX, Larry Childress and wife Janice of Ponder, TX, Paul Childress and wife Malinda of Stilwell, and Kevin Childress and wife Markeeta of Hulbert; his sistersLinda Heath of Lewisville, TX, Jennifer Agee and husband Roger of Welling, Cheryl Webb and husband Bob Ed of Hulbert, Susan Batey and husband Dwain of Siloam Springs, and Sandra Craig and husband Grant of Stilwell; his half sister Pat Padrnos; his brother-in-law Johnny Jones of Welling; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
