Velna Vanbuskirk

Velna Irene VanBuskirk died unexpectedly on August 19th 2016 in Peggs, Oklahoma at the age of 51.

Velna is survived by her mother, Juanita VanBuskirk of Peggs, her children, Reil VanBuskirk of the home, Tiffany VanBuskirk and John Pucket of Salina, Jennie Marlin and husband Brandon of Pryor, one brother, Joseph VanBuskirk of Houston, TX, one sister, Vicki Beaver and husband Gilbert of Peggs. Grandchildren: Kaleb, Natalie and Austin Polak of Salina, and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe VanBuskirk and grandparents, Louie and Ellen Thompson and J.V. and Olive VanBuskirk.

Velna was born on May 12th 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joe and Juanita VanBuskirk. She attended school in Tulsa, Coweta and Locust Grove. Later, she attended NSU in Tahlequah, then Horticulture School. She worked at Montana Tractors, Red Devil and enjoyed working in the fast food industry.

Velna enjoyed roller skating, spending time with her family, camping and her dog, Girl. She was a little on the ornery side, and liked to talk to her family into the wee hours of the morning. She was a caring person with a big heart that would help anyone she could.

Kaleb's favorite memory is cuddling in the chair with Granny watching Little Einstein's with his wolfie blanket and playing Hot Wheels.

Natalie's enjoyed watching movies with Granny and getting toys.

Austin knew he would get candy and pop when he saw Granny.
