Vernie Luna

Vernie Steven Luna the son of Vernie Samuel and Joyce (Bailey) Luna was born September 2, 1957 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 21, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 19 days.

Steven was an Iron Worker and a member of the Local 584 Iron Worker Union and he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #10. He enjoyed being outside whether he was hunting, working the garden, checking on his tomatoes, or just watching the birds. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed watching old John Wayne movies, reading, and watching OU Football. Steven touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father Vernie Samuel Luna; his paternal grandparents W.T. and Lucille Luna; his maternal grandmother Edna Bailey and his uncle Rayburn Bailey.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his children Steven Alex Luna of Memphis, TN and Katie Luna of Tahlequah, OK; his mother Joyce Luna of Hulbert; his sister Libby Osburn and husband Terry of Tahlequah; his grandchildren Stevie Marie Scott, Elizabeth Jayden Holt, and Andrew Dylan Holt all of Tahlequah; nephews T.J Osburn of Davenport, FL and Jarod Luna of Hulbert; and niece Joyce Ellen Luna of Guthrie. Many friends and other relatives also survive him.
