Then on November 17, 1935 she married Clayton Casady at the home of the Justice of the Peace in Park Hill. He was the love of her life and would sing the song You Are My Sunshine to her all the time, and on their 70th Wedding Anniversary he held her hand and sang that song to her. They had moved to Detroit, Michigan where their first child was born, this was one of the saddest times in their lives because they lost their first child. Vivian was a woman who loved people and enjoyed being active in different organizations such as: Rebekahs the female I.O.O.F., Stone Chapel Home Demonstration Club, she volunteered at Remarkables for many years and she was the SecretaryTreasurer for the Woodall United Methodist Church.
