Walter Foster

December 23, 1943 — February 1, 2022

Walter Gary Foster was born December 23, 1943, in Broken Arrow, OK to Walter and Jewel Etta (Fidler) Foster. Gary went to be with our Heavenly Father on February 1, 2022.
Gary Grew up in Hulbert, Ok and graduated school at Hulbert High School. While in Hulbert, Gary spent most of his time hunting and fishing. Though he mostly loved having coon hounds and hunting with them, most nights a friend managed to get him set up on a double date which is when he met Nancy Hurd. Gary married Nancy on April 25, 1964. He started off working with horses and ranching in Kansas for approximately two and a half years then moved back to Oklahoma to begin building car washes alongside his dad, Walter. Gary found a home on 40 acres of land in Parkhill, OK, in 1977, for him and Nancy to raise their children up on. When not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children on this land, spending time with Nancy and watching their children and grandchildren play/fellowship with each other. For a few years Gary and Nancy had fun going to auctions together. Gary built carwashes for 40 plus years. Though this was his main career, if asked, Gary could do about anything. He was always helping anyone he knew with work on their homes and/or vehicles, pouring concrete and building about anything someone needed throughout his life until he retired, and his wife Nancy passed form his life. Even when Gary couldn't work anymore physically, he would sit and watch his own boys while they worked and would give them instructions on how to do it. A little over a year after losing his wife Nancy, Gary started attending the senior Citizens Dance in Tahlequah, where one of his sisters worked, and met Connie Farguson. Gary and Connie then married on April 16, 2012. They have resided together in Tahlequah for 10 plus years and attended church at Southside Baptist. Until Gary became sick, he and Connie enjoyed their years fishing, running trot lines, floating the Illinois River, cooking together and traveling to Branson, MO and Albuquerque, NM as much as they could. Gary loved the Lord and loved all his family dearly. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Jewel Etta (Fidler) Foster, wife of 45 years Nancy Jane (Hurd) Foster, Grandson Walter Dustin Foster, and sister Angie (Foster) Tye Cooper.
